5 national flight winners compete in the world final individually and as a team.
The tournament begins as a national championship in countries around the world where the winners from five handicap flights in each country becomes National Champions of their flight and represents their national team as well as individually within their flights. The flights are: 0 – 5.4, 5.5 – 10.4, 10.5 – 15.4, 15.5 – 20.4 and 20.5 – 25.4
The world final is played over 72 holes (like professional PGA tournaments) with handicap adjustments between each round.

The WAGC has also just welcomed a new PATRON to the WAGC; Mr.Jesper Parnevik. Mr. Parnevik is a Swedish professional golfer playing the PGA Champions Tour, is really the right person to support the legacy of Sven Tumba, The Founder of World Amateur Golfers Championship. He was like an extra son ofSven and Mona Tumba and has always been considered part of the family. After getting a scholarship in golf at the Palm Beach Junior College in Lake Worth, he later turned professional in 1986 and has 5 wins on the PGA Tour, 4 wins at the European Tour and 5 other wins plus last year, he got his first win on the PGA Champions Tour at the Insperity Invitational. He has been the runner up twice in The Open in England and has three appearances at the Ryder Cup.
