We had the privilege to organise the Take 5 Charity Golf Tournament at two of Hua Hin and Thailand’s finest courses, Black Mountain Golf Club and Banyan Golf Club on October 18-19th. We are delighted to announce that the charity golf tournament helped raise in excess of THB800,000 for charity.
After experiencing the restrictions imposed because of the Covid-19 crisis, a full field of golfers lined up to show their commitment to a good cause and to challenge themselves against these amazing two golf courses. The tournament included some fantastic prizes over both days with the overall winner winning a luxury trip to Phuket. The format was Stableford over the two days and despite a rainy first day which halted proceedings early, all prizes were dished out to some happy winners.
Two custom made Fenix XCell charity golf shirts greeted golfers on arrival, along with many freebies as part of the event – including some draft beer for those who needed to calm their nerves before tee off! As mentioned, the rain got the better of the course with some torrential downpours causing play to be stopped with the early groups getting as far as the 11th hole. That didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits though as golfers gathered in the clubhouse bar to make the most of the day.
The evening included a delicious gala dinner at The Amari followed by a well-hosted auction whereby all proceeds raised would be donated to Charity. The dinner included a free flow beer and wine along with a dancing area and place for those eager football fans to watch their favourite teams go at it while the dancing crowd partied on.
With the greens as challenging as ever, day 2 proved to be a struggle for many but a relatively dry one compared to the previous day. There were still some impressive individual scores despite the tough conditions and the Banyan staff and facilities were fantastic in ensuring that everything was prepared to make the FORE event planning go as smoothly as possible.
At the halfway point, there were free drinks available and top-class catering with a range of appetisers on offer for golfers wanting to power up for the rest of their rounds. This included chefs rustling up sliders and a host of other treats.
After playing the stunning course of Banyan, a mouth-watering buffet followed. All players gathered at the Banyan Villas Resort nearby the golf club itself. That was shortly followed by the presentations which included speeches from the respective competition sponsors and Fore Management’s Chris Watson.
• Best Gross – Andy Whittle – 74 (+2)
• Men - Best Nett – Richard Doll – 42 points
• Ladies – Best Nett – Khun Thanyapa – 40 points
The well-deserved winners showed off their respective trophies and prizes and many players and sponsors alike stayed behind to savour the moment. This event would not have been such a success without our event sponsors who did a great job of keeping everyone on top of their game.
Thank you to all those who participated in this fantastic event. The FORE team look forward to seeing you all at next year’s Take 5 Trophy for more great fun for a good cause.
